CCRL
Welcome to the Cotswold Cycle Racing League – known more locally as simply ‘The Cotswold League’. Established in the late 1980’s the league was set up to enable riders in the Cotswolds to race on a weekly basis during the Summer. Based on a handicapping system it means that riders of all levels get to compete in a single event on a weekday evening.
2011 see’s some changes to the tradition set-up of the Cotswold League, with (for the first time) a stage race being included as part of the league. The events are also split between TLI and BC regulation and licence requirements – so please check the calendar below careful and make sure you bring the correct licence with you!
The Cotswold League also has a Facebook page, please can all riders log on to this and sign up – even if you don’t want to give too many details to Facebook! This will allow details and updates of events to be sent to you, as well as holding up-to-date results and pictures etc. League updates (and last minute announcements) will also be posted on the Performance Cycles Twitter feed.
The Cotswold League is once again sponsored by Performance Cycles and Fernando Carvalho Custom Clothing please support the two league sponsors wherever possible, and make sure you mention the league to them when contacting them.

Cotswold Spring Classic
The early season Cotswold Spring Classic sportive is now open for entries. Now in its third year, the Cotswold Spring Classic is fast becoming the season opener for many sportive riders from around the country. For 2011 it retains its now familiar Easter Monday date (which next year falls on 25th April) – giving riders the opportunity to make the most of the extra day off work with a long ride and some great early season miles.
The route for the 2011 event has received a few tweaks – bringing back some of the sections of the 2009 event, and throwing in some completely new ones too, which should ensure entries from previous years get to experience even more of the best roads in the Cotswolds. As in previous years the routes benefit from two well stocked feed stations (one on the shorter route), NEG MediBike motorcycle outrider support, neutral service (provided by Performance Cycles), a rider goodie bag, free hot food when you finish and much more.
With two routes on offer the Cotswold Spring Classic has something for everyone, the 100km route provides some good early season miles with some challenging climbs thrown in. Whereas the 160km route increases the amount of climbing and increases the challenge – which in April is always a good test to know where you are for your later season events.
